NOBLE is the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. The organization was started back in 1976 by a group of black Police Chiefs.
Lee Brown was one of the founding Chief s of this organization. NOBLE began at a three day symposium to address violence in urban areas which a lot of these chiefs were in charge of. After this, it turned into a major organization for black law enforcement executives, consisting of people who have the rank of lieutenant and above along with federal agents. The main goals of the organization are community outreach and intervention, education and training and professional networking.
