D.C. Idol Hands Non-profit, The Metropolitan Police Department and the Community would like to express appreciation to NOBLE, and members for your contribution on Monday, August 20, 2007, with our Community event, “Free Back to School Hair Cuts and School Supplies Give Away”, for the school year 2007-2008. Your generous contribution of support, school supplies and assistance help provide safe and clean locations within our Community for our youth and families to interact and gather, while school is not in session. Through the collaboration of NOBLE, The Metropolitan Police Department, The Community and DC Idol Hands Non-Profit, we are able to unite young women and men of all ages, cultures, religious beliefs and economic backgrounds together on neutral grounds to re-establish a forgotten goal:

"IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD"

D.C. Idol Hands Non-Profit, which has a projective goal of assisting 5,000 at risk young women, is writing this letter to NOBLE, and members for co-sponsoring “Free Back to School Hair Cuts and School Supplies Give Away”, for the school year 2007-2008. The D.C. Idol Hands program along with NOBLE, and members was able to celebrate and bridge the gap between the youth, The Metropolitan Police Department and the Community.

The acts of kindness, devotion, and dedication along with the continuous support from the Community and The Metropolitan Police Department will ensure the bond of community empowerment.

Sincerely,
Ms.Billie Davis

Plummer Elementary School Beautification Day- WMC members  participated in the Plummer Elementary Beautification day.  WMC members and school officials pulled weeds throughout the entire school grounds, planted flowers in the garden in front of the school, and spread mulch throughout the school grounds.  This was the first year that Washington D.C. government provided lanscaping material to improve the school grounds for local area schools.  Mary H. Plummer Elementary School has had a great face lift.  Thank you to those members who participated!
